From October 2017 to May 2018, the CSQ is pleased to welcome cellist Claire Bryant, who will perform with the quartet and take part in teaching and other CSQ activities at the University of Toronto. Ms. Bryant will step in for cellist Rachel Desoer, who will depart the quartet in October 2017 to honour personal project commitments.

Ms. Bryant has performed at premiere venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Southbank Centre (UK), Suntory Hall (Japan), Lincoln Center (New York), and the Barbican Centre(UK).

Ms. Bryant is a founding member of the acclaimed chamber music collective, Decoda (an Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall), and is the Principal Cellist of Trinity Wall Street’s chamber orchestra, Novus NY. Ms. Bryant has appeared as a soloist with orchestras from South Carolina to California, and Honduras to Finland, and has collaborated closely with artists such as Daniel Hope, Emanuel Ax, Sir Simon Rattle, Dawn Upshaw, the Weilerstein Trio, the Saint Lawrence String Quartet, and the Danish String Quartet. Ms. Bryant is a frequent guest artist with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of St. Lukes, Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Band and Ensemble ACJW, of which she is an alumna.
