The mission of Xenia Concerts Inc. is to offer high quality music and arts performances, presentations, and educational programs, in an environment that welcomes those who might not have access to such events and activities due to physical, mental, or financial barriers. The first ongoing offering of the organization is a series of accessible concerts at The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto that are designed to appeal to, and be welcoming of, children on the autism spectrum and their families.

The CSQ would like to thank The Sony Centre for providing their Lower Lobby Performance Space as a venue for the concerts for families affected by autism. The Sony Centre shares the belief that the performing arts are for everyone to experience and enjoy, and thus is a perfect partner for this project. Also supporting these concerts are the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music and the Toronto Arts Council (TAC). Xenia Concerts Inc. is grateful to have the support of these organizations, and is confident that these concerts will enrich Toronto’s already vibrant arts scene.

Some of the features of the concerts for children and families affected by autism include:

  • innovative programming that couples selections of chamber music masterpieces with verbal presentation
  • open performance space with movable audience seating and the option for audience members to bring their own seating (such as floor pillows)
  • graphic posters mounted during the performance so the audience can follow along with the concert

CFlogoChamber Factory: Works for Small Ensembles has agreed to partner with Xenia Concerts Inc. to grow the concerts for children with autism and their families, and to develop new Xenia Concerts Inc. offerings. Working together, Chamber Factory and Xenia Concerts Inc. see a huge potential to reach musically underserved individuals all over Ontario, and hope to make the concerts for children and families affected by autism a permanent fixture in the city of Toronto. If you would like to make a charitable donation, please contact chamberfactory@gmail.com.
